A.11 history--Show status of files and users

  • Synopsis: history [-report] [-flags] [-options args] [files...]
  • Requires: the file `$CVSROOT/CVSROOT/history'
  • Changes: nothing.

CVS can keep a history file that tracks each use of the checkout, commit, rtag, update, and release commands. You can use history to display this information in various formats.

Logging must be enabled by creating the file `$CVSROOT/CVSROOT/history'.

Warning: history uses `-f', `-l', `-n', and `-p' in ways that conflict with the normal use inside CVS (see section A.5 Common command options).
